Contractor who was born and raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai before he turned 7years old, traveled all over the world and experienced diverse cultures when he was a kid. She went to boarding school from the age of 7 until 9 in London. After that the family relocated to Toronto (Canada) where they were raised for her entire life. This is a specialized high-school for the arts, in which she didn't just take classes in theater but also performed as well. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 productions of the play. The actress accepted an invitation to enroll in Stratford's conservatory, a program which allows just four men and eight women are able to take an intensive 20-week course of classical theater. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she got the part in Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
